Case Study: Opioid Abuse and Pain Prescription Policy

This case study was completed for a community health class which focused on assessing the needs of a community and creating a comprehensive plan to address the identified issues using available resources. This work shows my ability to:

• Understand and evaluate community identified needs
• Research underlying factors for public health issues
• Identify resources available within a community
• Create sustainable solutions

Program Plan: Mental Health Intervention for Rural Farmers

This program plan proposes a mental health intervention to improve mental health outcomes and mitigate farm-related stressors within the farming population in Colquitt County, Georgia. The skills utilized in this project include:

• Conducting a needs assessment to identify relevant issues in underserved communities
• Creating SMART goals
• Building a program based upon evidence and theory
• Constructing a robust evaluation plan that includes formative, process, and summative evaluation
