During my internship today, I was tasked with creating two different spreadsheets that compile health and demographic statistics for all Archway and CRC communities. The purpose of one of the spreadsheets is to specifically identify the prevalence and community ranking’s for cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Furthermore, the total number of primary care physicians, cardiologists, and endocrinologists will be identified. The goal of the other spreadsheet is to identify the proportion of the population in each of the communities that is of Asian origin. This information will be used to assist in developing a grant proposal for improving the health of Asian populations in rural communities utilizing genetic ancestry and trait testing. After background and supporting information is identified, focus groups will be conducted with those in each of the relevant communities.
