My main task today was creating an updated presentation to use during the onboarding process for newly hired Archway Professionals. The primary goals of this presentation are to provide a general overview of the Archway Partnership, the roles of the Archway Professional, and significant priorities addressed within Archway communities. All of this is important information for Archway Professionals to be familiar with because it sets the foundation for them to be able to effectively engage communities. Some of the main community-identified priorities that Archway Professionals work on are economic development, leadership, education and workforce development, quality of life, and health and wellness. Many of these priorities influence one another, but ultimately each one can impact the overall health and wellness of a community. The Archway Partnership considers the community itself to be the main vessel of change and action, and it is the Archway Professional’s responsibility to recruit stakeholders, build relationships, manage projects, and connecting communities to the University’s resources. This community-driven process is carried out over several years, but is essential for the development and implementation of sustainable interventions.
