The main task today was continuing to research and identify grant funding for community health projects. There is much more that goes into this process than performing a simple search. Many grants have strict guidelines and requirements for funding, or they support a very specific type of project. Furthermore, grants often have certain timeframes in which the funds must be used and applicants may be accepted from a specific geographic area. Because the process of grant writing requires a great amount of effort, it is important to be very knowledgeable about eligibility requirements and the overall aim of the grant before applying. If a project is already narrowed down, then it can be helpful to look at past projects the grant has funded to see if it aligns with the goals of your project. Lastly, grants may require particular data or information during the application process, which must be taken into account before applying. During my research, I am paying close attention to the aforementioned details so that I can identify grants with the greatest potential for success.
