Chase Reece, BSHP '24

Today was the first day of my internship. Throughout this semester, I will be working on various projects, but much of my work will be with the CARE Center here at UGA. The majority of my time today was spent familiarizing myself with the CARE Center’s work and their mission. The CARE Center partners with Archway to help provide resources and education regarding dementia in Archway communities. Many Archway communities are rural or underserved and residents may not have well-established access to dementia care resources. Through their partnership, they are able to provide vital education that can lead to better diagnoses and outcomes. Here at UGA, the CARE Center is also directly involved in providing diagnostic services and support for those with dementia and their loved ones. I am looking forward to supporting the CARE Center’s mission this semester.
